Series

When it comes to a more complex theme which I want to depict, I rather create a series of images than single snapshots. This way I can portray different aspects of the theme and take a look from various angles. Besides, I appreciate the repetitive aspect that a series has which helps me process difficult and challenging matters.

Some of the themes of my series are very personal, for example my experiences of loss and disconnection during the pandemic. Most of my series though deal with issues on a broader scale, as I look at the social response to a certain political event, the changing social climate here in the United States and in my home country Germany, and how it affects people, their relationships, and society as a whole.
